MEMM Day 04 -- Favorite sword
I've been puzzling over this one for a while, and I've come to the conclusion that my favorite sword is Glamdring, Gandalf's sword. It sort of fulfills my ideal of Swordness -- elegant, but powerful, with a nice hilt and pommel, but not overly fancy. Also, "Glamdring" is fun to say :-)

Agree or disagree? That is the question...

Yes, Glamdring is fantastic. It's my third favorite! It is a very aesthetically pleasing AND practical sword.
ReplyDeleteYes, it feels like one I could actually wield if I needed too -- not quite as big and heavy as Boromir's and Bard's swords look.
DeleteNice. Glamdring is very pretty. And fun to say. :D Anduril all the way for me. I'm not sure of why -- maybe because of it's history. And I love the part where Aragorn pulls it out of its sheath for the first time and it just keeps coming and coming...
ReplyDeleteAnduril is cool, but like you said, so very long! And I feel like I'd be afraid to use it because it's so special, hee.
DeleteGreat choice! I knew someone who had a reproduction of Glamdring on his wall, so cool!
ReplyDeleteWow! That would be amazing.
