MEMM Day 01 - Favorite moment/line in "The Fellowship of the Ring"

I thought this was going to be ridiculously hard to answer, but it's actually not.  There's one moment in the whole movie that makes my heart sing and my pulse pound, that makes me bounce up and down and cheer and want to hug whoever happens to be around.  It's from when the fellowship is toiling up all sorts of mountains, still a little starry-eyed about their quest.  The camera pans over the barren countryside...

...then zeroes in on the top of one ridge, and the music starts to swell.

Boom.  Boom.  Boom-boom-boom.  Doo-doo-dooooo, doo-doo-dooooo,doo-doo-dooooooo, dooooo, dooooo.  Boom.  Boom.  Boom-boom-boom. Doo-doo-dooooo.  Doo-doo-doooooooo.  Doooo-dooooo-dooooooooooooo!  (That's how I sing it when I'm singing along with the soundtrack.)  And up over the ridge comes one member of the fellowship after another, all looking a little tired, but a little exhilarated too.  It's a great big hero moment, and I get chills thinking of it.

(Boromir looks especially tired because Sean Bean hates helicopters,
and instead of riding in a helicopter up to the filming site for these scenes,
he climbed up the whole way, in full costume.)

(And in the rear walked Aragorn, grim and silent.)

And because I can, I'm going to list my favorite line too.  Except this really IS a hard decision!  I'll be devoting a whole post to lines I quote the most on Day 07, so this is supposed to be my favorite line.  I'm going to go with one from the very end:  "We may yet, Mr. Frodo.  We may yet."  I love how well that embodies Sam's unquenchable optimism.  He believes they can not only complete their quest, but go home to the Shire safely again, and he's tenacious in that belief.  How I love Sam!  More about him in the next post :-)
