Ahoy there, me hearties! We Love Pirates Week has begun!
Whenever ye post anything for this party, whether it be your tag answers, a book or movie review, or any other post ye've got planned, add it to this widget here:
Here be the official tag, which ye may copy down to your own blog and answer there. Many thanks to DKoren, who helped me brainstorm the questions.
1. What are your favorite pirate movies or books?
2. Who are your favorite fictional pirates?
3. What do you like best about pirate stories? (Themes, costumes, aesthetic, etc.)
4. If you were going to play a pirate on the stage or screen, what would your costume look like?
5. What pirate ship would you like to serve on?
6. Any favorite sea shanties or pirate songs?
7. Have you ever participated in International Talk Like a Pirate Day?
8. Would you like to go sailing on a real tall ship?
9. Have you ever learned anything about real pirates, or do you tend to stick to the fictional kind?
10. Why is the rum gone?
I'm hosting a giveaway for this event, so if you be interested in some plunder, see my previous post for ways to enter!
Finally, add any of these buttons to your own posts so other pirates, buccaneers, privateers, or even land-lubbers can join the fun! And be sure to sail over to other people's posts all week long, as well as checking back here for a couple of games I have planned.
Ahoy, ahoy! *waves spyglass in an excitable manner* Let the festivities begin!
ReplyDeleteI reviewed "The Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy" here:

Delete"Why is the Rum gone?" ;)
ReplyDeleteTwo versions of a sea shanty that I've been listening to quite a lot the past weeks to add to the pirate atmosphere and fun here:
The short, catchy, lively version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=auI9Cx8SGX4
The full slow version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tq5y4Trz2Bg
Annie, thanks for sharing those shanties! I quite like them both.
DeleteAhoy!

ReplyDeleteMetzinger Sisters, I am really eager to see what you thought of that movie because I just watched it for the first time, and reviewed it myself!
DeleteConfession: I forgot about this blog week until it was actually happening. *face palm* My review of Double Crossbones is up now though! Thanks for hosting this!
ReplyDeleteEva, no worries -- you still got your review in with plenty of time!
DeleteHappy Friday!
ReplyDeleteAargh and shiver me timbers, this week has not turned out at all as expected, but I managed to just finish my Double Crossbones review and get the link up! I'm not sure I'll get to the tag, but I love your questions and have to say the rum is gone cause I used it up (the dark stuff anyway) in my dark chocolate almond rum torte (wish you could visit and have some, I'd make a convert of ye). XD
Thanks again so much for hosting, it's been such fun!
Heidi, this week was busier than I anticipated too. But we've had time for a lot of fun anyway. I can't wait to have a chance to read your review. And wow, dark chocolate almond rum torte does sound like an excellent way to use up the rum!
DeleteP.S. For some reason the first link isn't working properly, can you delete that one and keep the second?
ReplyDeletePS Heidi, yup, all fixed for you. Looks like the first one linked to the mobile version of your blog, is all.
DeleteI can't believe that this is coming to a close! I got my review up first, though. Thanks again for hosting!
ReplyDeleteMC, I know! This week just sped by like a cannon ball. So glad you were able to share your review! You're welcome, and thanks for joining the fun!
