Another Sunshine Blogger Award.

Yeeeeees, I know I just did a Sunshine Award.  But Mary Horton of Sunshine and Scribblings tagged me with this, and how can I not accept a Sunshine Award from a blog that literally has "sunshine" in their title?  And besides, such fun questions.  Thank you, Mary :-)

Yes, I know I used this same banner thingie last time.  It's a tradition now.

1. Do you like to read an entire series at once or spread out the books over time?  Spread them out!  Over decades, if possible!  That way I have something new to look forward to for a looooooooooong time.  Once I've read the whole series, though, if I want to re-read them I will totally read them more close together.

2. Would you rather be stuck in the past or the future?  Can I pick the decade?  Then the past.  I've always wanted to live in the 1960s.  Weird but true.

Would I wear these clothes?
You bet your go-go boots I would!

3. Have you ever had dream re-runs? (In other words, the same dream twice. XD)  Yes, though generally more like a reworking of the same theme than the exact same dream.  When I'm stressed out, I will dream that I'm at college and it's finals time, and I suddenly realize I was signed up to take a class but never went to it, and now I have to take the final exam.  Also when I'm stressed, I'll dream I'm working at Walmart again, and I've either forgotten my ID badge and can't clock in, or I forgot to clock in.  I've come to recognize that if I have a dream like either of those, my real life is too stressful and I need to find a way to calm it down.

4. What is your favorite vacation you've ever taken?  I... I... how can I choose?  Okay, to pick one, I'll say the year that the Mississippi River flooded very, very badly (1994ish?), so to get from NC to IA, my family went up the east coast, through Canada, and down through the Dakotas.  We took our time and did fun stuff like spending two days visiting historical sites in Boston and going canoeing in Maine.  It was amazing, as I'd never been to New England before.

It looked about like this, as I recall.

5. Do you like to chew gum? If so, what is your favorite flavor?  I do.  I love Wrigley's "Winterfresh" the most.

6. If you found the entrance to Narnia, would you tell anybody? Who would you take with you if you did?  Yes, I would tell my best friend so we could explore it together and see if it would be okay to take my son and her nephew (both 9) inside.

I could really go for some snow about now, actually.  It was 93 here on Friday.  Yuck.

7. Waffles, pancakes, or neither?  Pancakes!!!  When I was a kid, we ate them every Saturday for supper.  Now I make them for my kids a couple times a month.  And I can never eat pancakes without hearing Dana Andrews' voice in my head saying the line, "No pancakes?" from the movie North Star (1943).

Anne Baxter comforting Dana Andrews over the lack of pancakes.

8. Do you use the Shift key or the Caps Lock key every time you capitalize something? (Odd question, but it's something I always wonder, haha.)  Shift key.  I function beautifully without the caps lock key.  Our Chromebook doesn't even have one, and I never noticed until Cowboy pointed it out.

9. What is one smell that never fails to make you happy?  Cinnamon.  I love the smell of cinnamon in the morning -- it smells like Christmas.

Between the pancakes and cinnamon, I'm getting really hungry.

10. Have you ever been rollerskating?  Many times.

11. You've gone into hiding and have to conceal your identity. What new alias would you adopt?  Reid James.  Don't be shocked if I publish under that name some day.

I'm lazy today and not going to tag anyone specifically.  If you like Mary's questions and want to answer them yourself, I hereby tag you!

  1. Yay, you did the tag!!! (I didn't realize you had already done this one recently, so sorry for making you do it again, haha.)

I'm the same way! I like to spread out series, generally. (As long as I don't forget what happened in the previous books, that is.) It gives me something to look forward to. :)

Ooh, 1960s would be fun! The '40s and '50s are some of my favorite eras, but I like a lot of the fun '60s clothes soooo...yeah. ;)

Mmmm, pancakes and cinnamon. Now I'm hungry, too!

Thanks again for doing the tag! I loved reading your answers. :D

    1. Mary, I don't mind doing tags like this over and over that have totally different questions :-) I think this is at least the third time I've done this one, but who cares? They're all different.

Yes, it's bad to spread a series out too far and get fuzzy on details. That does happen to me sometimes.

Thanks for tagging me! Glad you enjoyed :-)

  2. What fun questions! I enjoyed reading your answers (no pancakes? haven't thought about that recently!) Love the pic from North Star. :-D

So, where's that wardrobe?? I'm ready!

    1. DKoren, wait, you mean you don't actually say, "No pancakes?" in a sweetly mournful way every time you make pancakes? Or every time someone asks you to make pancakes and it's too late to start them and still get breakfast on the table? Tsk tsk.

If a certain perilous spy would be willing to pick out my ensembles for me, I would hop in that new wardrobe right this second.

    2. I haven't had pancakes in so long now that I forgot what they taste like. Waaah! Curse that wheat allergy. L did ask me to make some for her (cuz she simply can't make homemade pancakes for some unfathomable reason... they're so flippin' easy!) but I just made them for her without even thinking of dear Dana. Sigh.

Hahahah. I'm going to go sleep on this.

    3. I am very sad for you and all the stuff you can't eat. And I feel your pain, since so many yummy (mainly pork-based) foods are off-limits for me now.

  3. What a roundabout way to get to Iowa, but it sounds pretty amazing! Sometimes its the times that our plans get redirected that brings some amazing experience we'd never have imagined, isn't it? :)

Yes to Narnia! I'd want to take my nieces and nephews, but only after making sure it was springtime and not winter.

I joined in this one, I liked the questions. :) So my post should be up tomorrow!

    1. Kara, yes, it was. But we went to Iowa to visit all our relatives every July, and my grandparents weren't getting any younger, so off we went. Unanticipated adventures can be great!

I will read your post with great relish... when I get around to it. I got all caught up on my blog reading last week, and promptly fell behind again. Sigh. And with INSPY reading coming up, I'm sure I'll fall even more behind.

  4. New England!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS.

I have dream re-runs, too. It's so weird.

*sigh* Pancakes for supper . . . my mom used to make those, too . . . It was SO GOOD.

    1. Jessica, I'm actually always surprised by how many people don't have recurring dream themes. I'd think most people would have things they process more than once through dreams, but I guess it ain't necessarily so.

I'm totally making pancakes for breakfast in 14 minutes. Nom nom nom.

  5. Dreams? Nightmares more like it. Two times when I was a kid, I recall dreaming seeing random words written on the sky. And when my mom called. I couldn't get up. When I awoke in real time I was lying on my back. To this day I can't go to sleep lying on my back.

Smells that make you happy? Does pot count? :-D

    1. Quiggy, yikes! Those are creepy dreams.

Haha! The smell of pot doesn't make me happy, it makes me nervous, but that's because I associate it with college, smelling it in people's rooms and knowing they were going to get in trouble.

    2. On second thought, maybe it isn't the smell of pot, but the pot itself that makes me happy...:-D BTW, I'm just being funny on that I'm clean and sober for almost 8 years now.
