Time once again for a Baby Update ;-)
Just had an appointment with one of my nurse/midwives. I'm beginning week 18, and all is looking fine -- my blood tests from last month show that my blood is carrying excellent levels of oxygen, iron, and white blood cells. My blood pressure this morning was 112/64, and my uterus is now about an inch below my belly button. Gumdrop's heartbeat was around 160 today, about 20 beats/second lower than last month, but that's supposed to be normal. And according to their scale, I now weigh 163, up 9 pounds from my last appointment six weeks ago. According to my scale at home, I weigh 158, up 6 pounds from six weeks ago, but whatever. Still well within the healthy weight gain range.
And, for those of you salivating over finding out Gumdrop's gender... you have to wait another month yet to find out. I have an ultrasound scheduled for May 24.
Oh yeah, I'm not exactly showing yet. I don't look pregnant, I just look fat. Or, as Cowboy puts it, squishable.

I better come over and visit you tomorrow or when I eventually see you I'll be like, "Oh my god! You lok so different! Where did your uterus go?!"
ReplyDeleteLol, well, I think you've got a little while yet before I start to look vastly different ;-)
ReplyDelete18 weeks now! Have you felt any baby flutters yet? It feels like tiny squrty gas bubbles in your uterus for about a split second. It's fun.

Hi Rae! No, don't think I've felt any baby movement yet. My nurse/midwife said that's pretty normal for a first pregnancy, that I might not feel anything until weeks 20-22.
ReplyDeleteI think I was 19-20 wks at the least before I felt Vianna or Simon but 15 wks with Tavia. The third time around, everything came sooner it seemed. But yeah, 20 wks is pretty standard for movement being felt.

Happy half way! Only 10 days till your ultrasound! Do you have a guess as to what you're having? Girl, boy, pony?

Oh yeah, are you taking pictures as you go? You've got to be showing a teeny bit by now! You should post one (or six)on K.com!!

Hi! Yup, starting week 20 now. I actually feel like I'm having a boy, although that's probably just because I want a boy. But when all the relatives this weekend ask us if we know what we're having, I plan to say, "We're pretty sure it's a baby, although Cowboy's still really hoping it'll turn out to be a puppy." :-D
ReplyDeleteAnd no, I don't have any pregnant pics yet, but I'll try to get Cowboy to take a couple profile shots before we head off to the wedding. And I'm sure I'll be posting lots of pics from that on K.com -- my dress is an empire waist and actually makes me look pregnant instead of just fat, lol!
