"Emma" (1996) Soundtrack Guest Post Up

Good morning!  Just a quick note to let you know that I've got a guest post up here today on James the Movie Reviewer's blog.  Rachel Portman's score for Emma is one of my favorites, and I listen to it a lot in early spring.  (If you want to know how I feel about the movie as a whole, you can read my review of it here.)  Happy listening!

  1. Your comment on your review about loving the widescreen version cracked me up -- because that's exactly how I felt when I bought the DVD as soon as it came out. "YOU CAN SEE MORE MR. KNIGHTLEY!!"

Oh, be still my teenage heart.

One of my favorite movies. I keep HOPING they will remaster it and put it out on Blu Ray due to the popularity of Gwyneth Paltrow but so far, no such luck. My DVD is such poor quality from viewing it ten million times that it's a chore to watch it on a big screen.

And yes, it has such a pretty score. One of my favorites -- along with "Little Women."

    1. Charity, well... seeing more Mr. Knightley is very important and excitifying!

I don't have a Blu-Ray player, though I feel the inevitability of one creeping up upon me. But you know, you could get a new DVD, they're like $5 or $6 new on Amazon.

  2. I'm ashamed to admit that it's been so long since I've seen the movie that I hardly remember the score. Oops! But I do love the film and it is my favorite version of Emma!

    1. Bad, naughty, evil Carissa! Just kidding. But look the score up cuz it's all on YouTube, and so worth a listen :-)

Agree or disagree? That is the question...
