Whatever shall I do to keep myself busy this winter? Hmm. I'm sure I can think of a few things ;-)
~ Finish writing a short story
~ Finish the first draft of my Beauty and the Beast retelling
~ Finish re-reading The Lord of the Rings
(All photos mine from my Instagram account) |
~ Read 3 Christmas books
~ Read 6 other books off my TBR shelves
~ Read 3 books from the library
~ Read at least 1 book each month about/by someone who is not white
~ Host a pirate-themed blog party in February
~ Watch 3 Christmas movies
~ Watch 4 movies off my TBW shelves
~ Go see Wonder Woman: 1984
~ Try making cookies with my new patterned rolling pin
~ Help my daughter make a playground for her hamster
~ Repaint the main floor bathroom
~ Get back to regularly reading the blogs I love
That ought to keep me occupied, don't you think?
How about you? Are you planning anything in particular you'd like to do this winter?
Oh, I'm very interested in the sound of that blog party! :-) Now I can't wait for the official announcement!
ReplyDeleteMaking cookies with a patterned rolling pin sounds like jolly good fun. Good luck with all of these!
MC, yay! Hoping to have time between Christmas and New Year's to make buttons for the pirate party and then announce it. I'm thinking Feb 8-12 for it.
DeleteThanks!
I'm amazed at the mere concept of a patterned rolling pin.
ReplyDeleteI've started to try out different schedules to maximize my productivity this month and the experiments will continue for most of our (pretty short) winter.
But things I'd like to do this winter include:
-Complete the third draft of my novella
-Catch up and Keep up with snail mail (I've been a bad penpal and still have one letter that have been sitting on my desk for months now, waiting for my reply)
-Host/lead my online movie group's January view of Tombstone
-Post two recipes to my blog
-And monthly western book reviews
-Read/review an ARC I was randomly offered
-I subscribed to a bunch of magazines for the new year, and now I don't know what I was thinking and how I'm going to keep up with them
- I'd really like to either complete or completely write a short story in between now and when I start third drafting my novella.
- But first I really really need to finish sending Christmas cards!
- Also I'd like to finish embroidering some random flowers on a blouse I bought a few days ago. I am very rusty at embroidery, but the blouse was cheap and it was too boring to leave it as it was.
- And try and keep up with hamlette's blog!
VT, yeah, patterned rolling pins seem very nifty, so we'll se how it goes!
DeleteGreat goals! Mmmm, Tombstone <3 Such a cool film.
Awww, I'm on your list! That's very kind :-)
I had planned to have all baking and presents wrapped before the last minute, but ... THE LAST MINUTE IS ALMOST HERE!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your relaxing moments and your productive time. Merry Christmas.
Caftan Woman, so true! We're getting really close! I have two Christmas cards left to send, so I feel like I'm almost done with that bit of festive fun, but I have nothing at all wrapped yet. Eek!
DeleteMerry Christmas to you!
These are such good goals! Good luck on all of them. Honestly, I'm not much of a planner (I do my best work spontaneously), but I do want to write some more of my novel.
ReplyDeleteThanks, McKayla! I have too much to do to leave things to chance anymore ;-) I used to be much more do-what-I-can-when-I-get-around-to-it, though.
DeleteA pirate themed blog party! That sounds like fun.
ReplyDeleteSkye, I think so! I'm figuring on holding it Feb. 8-12.
DeleteAmazing goals, all of them! Good luck! :D
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm, I wonder if I might contribute anything to your pirate blog party ...
Thanks, Katie! Definitely start thinking about piratey things! This'll be like my other "We Love XYZ" parties, with a tag and the option to contribute movie and book reviews, etc.
Delete*ponders the pirate-y things*
DeleteAnd now I randomly come by to say I appreciate your plug for the Christmas Six Shooter episode in your newsletter :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas to you!
VT, oh, glad you enjoyed that! It's such an excellent show :-)
DeleteMerry Christmas to you too!
