"My, my, my, my, my, what a mess." -- Deputy Marshal Sammy Gerard (Tommy Lee Jones) eyeing a train wreck.
I've actually been to the place where they filmed the big train-and-bus wreck! They used a real train and a real bus, not models, and it was the biggest wreck ever filmed to that date, IIRC. They filmed it up on the Great Smoky Mountain Railway in North Carolina, and they filmed some of the chase stuff in that area too, like the river that Dr. Kimble swims in after he does a Peter Pan right offa that dam.
Man, I love this movie.
Glad you linked up, Hamlette! I do so enjoy these. :)
ReplyDeleteI do too! A fun way to get introduced to movies you've never seen and smile fondly over quotes from movies you do know.
DeleteThese are fun! :)
ReplyDeleteAren't they?
DeleteAnd I so love the way Tommy Lee Jones says that line too. :-D
ReplyDeleteI love the way TLJ says pretty much every line. I'm hoping to see "Lincoln" this weekend, particularly for him.
DeleteI can even hear Tommy's voice saying that. It's funny how certain lines just go with certain voices in our heads. :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! Especially when it's such a distinctive voice, like his.
DeleteI have never watched it, but it sounds fantastic! Thanks for linking up! :)
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhhhhh, it is a wonderful movie. Practically perfect in every way, except for bad language. Well, and there's violence too. But it's wonderful. Tommy Lee Jones picked up the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for it.
DeleteThanks for hosting!
