Giveaway for Legends of Western Cinema Week 2019

Y'all probably know that I love hosting giveaways.  It just so happens that both Olivia and Heidi also love hosting them, so we are EACH hosting a giveaway for Legends of Western Cinema Week!  Heidi's is here, and Olivia's is here.

As for my giveaway, here are the prizes!

I will choose SEVEN winners, one for each prize.  Here's a little more info about the prizes, with some close-up photos of a few items.

1.  The Magnificent Seven (1960) on DVD.  I consider this the finest western film ever made.

2.  A "Cowboys and Indians" candle from True Texas Scents.  Here's a closer look at it:

3.  A cowboy boot keychain.

4.  A gunfighter-themed necklace.  I made this myself.  Here's a closer look at the charms on it:

5.  Hondo (1953), a western movie starring my favorite actor, John Wayne.

6.  Two cute packs of stickers, one all feathers and one cowboy gear.  Closer look:

7.  Three bookmarks themed around the famous Gunfight at the O.K. Corral.  One features Wyatt Earp and info about him, one is about the location of the gunfight, and one is about Doc Holliday.  Here's a closer look:

This giveaway is open WORLDWIDE!  It runs through the end of Friday, July 26, 2019. I will choose the winners on Saturday, July 27, and post them here, as well as notify the winners via the email addresses you provide to the giveaway widgets when you enter. Please make sure you use an email address you check often. If I don't hear back from you by Saturday, August 3, I will disqualify you and pick a different winner for what was to have been your prize.

The widget will ask you to leave a comment with your choices of prizes. I do not guarantee that, if you win, you will receive one of the prizes you chose. I try to match people up with things they want the best I can, but sometimes I just can't do it. If there's anything you do not want, PLEASE SAY SO in your comment as well.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Don't forget to check out the blog tag and visit all the nifty entries people will be contributing all week.  I'll have a top ten list for you tomorrow, a game on Tuesday, and another post or two coming later in the week, including at least one western movie review.

EDIT:  Elizabeth Grace Foley is also hosting a giveaway for this event, so be sure to check that out here!

    1. (So, yeah, the necklace would be my first preference. ;) But all of them are cool! The only one I wouldn't care for would be the Mag7 DVD, since I already have it. :))

    2. Thanks, Olivia :-) I had fun finding charms for the necklace!

  4. Besides SHANE what are your favorite ALAN LADD movies especially when it comes to westerns? I am a big fan of RICHARD WIDMARK. Ive mostly seen his work in westerns. Widmark late in life married SUSAN BLANCHARD-not the actress who is married to CHARLES FRANK-but an ex-wife of HENRY FONDA. WIDMARKS first wife Anne passed away after a long marriage. They had one daughter. Do you know the work of Widmark? Classic TV Fan

    1. Classic TV Fan, I just so happen to have a list of my ten favorite Alan Ladd movies right here. It's a couple years old, but my favorites are about the same still.

I know Richard Widmark from a variety of movies, yes. Especially The Alamo and How the West was Won. I was really struck by his turn in Don't Bother to Knock too.

  5. Love your giveaways. <3

My top three prizes would be Mag7 (don't own it, weirdly enough), the necklace, or the bookmarks. :)

    1. Aww, thanks, Eva! WOW, you don't own Mag7? I am agog! I am aghast!

    2. Okay, actually I DID own a copy (or, rather, I kept my family's copy in my personal collection) but the last time I tried to watch it, it jerked up so horribly that I couldn't. :P So I am currently Mag7-less. :*(

    3. Eva, this probably won't help now because you probably got rid of the disc, but when a DVD glitches up like that, I've found that if you hold it under cold running water for like 30 seconds and then dry it off gently, moving from the center to the edge over and over (NEVER rubbing in a circle), that will fix the glitches 90% of the time. I've done that over and over and over, and it's miraculous.

    4. Oh wow! I actually don't think we threw the DVD away so I'll have to try that when we get home.

    5. Hope it helps! DKoren taught me that (she learned it from Netflix, I guess?), and it's saved my bacon so often.

  6. "Leave a comment on this post telling me which three prizes you like best." If I were lucky enough to win, I think my top three choices would be: (1) the three bookmarks, (2) the candle, or (3) the cute stickers.

  7. I want to correct an error that I made. Widmarks late wife was Jean. Their daughter is Anne. Speaking of actor CHARLES FRANK and his wife SUSAN BLANCHARD earlier they were both on a show-a short-lived western titled YOUNG MAVERICK where he was a MAVERICK cousin named BEN. It aired around 1980. Im a fan of Charles Frank. He was on the prime-time soap EMERALD POINT,NAS(1983-84). He did 2 eps of a western PARADISE starring the very attractive LEE HORSLEY who had earlier played private detective MATT HOUSTON. Also way back before I knew the show Charles and Susan played a married couple on ALL MY CHIDREN. His name was JEFF who I believe was the second husband of ERICA KANE. Also I think Charles was the second actor to play Jeff. Susan played Jeffs wife MARY. PLUS Charles Frank was on a soap opera spoof FILTHY RICH with DELTA BURKE and DIXIE CARTER and also ANN WEDGEWORTH. WHEW! That's a lot of trivia! Do you know the work of Charles Frank? Classic TV Fan

  8. Yay! Excited for the party! Thanks, gals for hosting it!

The top three prizes I'd like most would be The Magnificent Seven, the candle, or the stickers. :) The bookmarks are probably the ones I'd be least interested in, but it really doesn't matter so much to me. I'd be happy with winning any of these lovely prizes! :D

  9. Ooh, these all look splendid!! :D Hmmm, decisions, decisions, decisions... I already have Mag7 and I think I'd be least interested in the candle. So my first pick would be the key chain and after that the stickers or Hondo, but really anything would be absolutely lovely! ;)

    1. Heidi, sounds good! Have you ever seen Hondo?

    2. I know this is *frightful*, but no I haven't (too many good ones to keep track of, that's my flimsy excuse anyway ;D)

    3. Heidi, I hear you. Only so many hours in the day! Was just curious to know what you thought of it, if you've seen it. It's kind of an unusual western, I always feel. The storyline and characters are not... ordinary, I guess.

    4. Ooh, now you've just made me curiouser.

    5. Heidi, good! It was based on a short story by Louis L'Amour, and then he wrote a novel-length version based on the movie, which is also excellent.

  10. Woahhh great giveaway!

My first pick is the keychain, second would be The Magnificent Seven DVD, after that the candle or necklace. :) I'm not really interested in anything else, so if by weird chance I win and don't get one of those choices you can pass it on to the next winner. :)
Thanks so much for hosting and doing the giveaway, Hamlette!! :)
