Autumn 2018 To-Do List

Here are all the things I want to accomplish this autumn, so between now and the end of November.

~ Read Jane of Austin by Hillary Manton Lodge

~ Read 5 other books from my TBR shelves

~ Read 3 books for my Classics Club list

~ Read 3 books from the library

~ Watch 5 movies from my TBW shelves

~ Go see the 2011 Jane Eyre with a bunch of friends

~ Go see Crazy Rich Asians

~ Go see First Man

~ Go see Bad Times at the El Royale

~ Go see Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

~ Get together with some blogging friends again, somewhere, somehow

~ Make copycat Frankenmouth hot buttered noodles -- I loved them so much as a kid when we lived in Michigan and visited Frankenmout once a year or so!  Can't wait to try these!

~ Make apple crisp muffins

~ Take our kids camping in the Shenandoah Valley

~ Order photos -- I've failed at this so far, but maybe I can make it happen this fall.

~ Start writing the first draft of my next book

~ Run down to Colonial Williamsburg at least once

(All photos taken by me.)

How about you?  Got any fun plans for this fall?  Books you want to read, movies you want to see, places you want to go?

  2. Ive never even heard of First Man and the El Royale movie. :-D (I've since googled them.) But Fantastic Beasts is on my watch list, of course. Can't wait for that!

    1. DKoren, you have heard of El Royale, just... RC is no longer involved, so I'm kinda bummed. Guessing he was going to have the Bridges role? Sigh. Still want to see it for CH, anyway.

      Sooooo excited for Beasts!!!!!!

    2. Ohhhhh! It's that one! Gotcha. I didn't put two and two together.

    3. I think it might have gotten a new title.

  3. YOU'RE GONNA LOVE CRAZY RICH ASIANS

This fall, I'm planning to visit New England with my siblings! My other major goal is to make substantial progress on the rewrite for my Holocaust novel (I'll be doing NaNo in November for the first time, for that purpose.)

    2. Jessica, the truth is, I drew this list up last week and forgot to post it. I saw Crazy Rich Asians on Saturday and liked it okay.

New England in the fall is so gorgeous!

I miiiiiiiight do some Nano myself, we'll see. Tossing around a couple ideas for short stories.

I can't decide if I want to see Bohemian Rhapsody or if I would hate it.

    3. Ahhhh, gotcha ;-) I'm glad you enjoyed it, at least!

I really really want to see Bohemian Rhapsody. I just hope it's GOOD. If they don't do him justice I will cry & throw things at the screen.

    4. Jessica, yeah, it was fun! Not a waste of time, by any means. Just didn't love it. But I can't love every movie -- that would be silly.

I really don't know much about Queen, though I know lots of their music. So I kind of want to see BR just to learn things. I will probably wait to hear what YOU think of it before I see it.

    5. Definitely! And I'm sure I will have lots and lots and lots of thoughts! *grins*

  4. Sounds like fun, I always like your lists. I might try one, but I'm not the best list follower.

    1. Mom, we could! We're going to try them this weekend too, and if they're a success, we'll totally make them at your house.

  7. Great list! Do you know what Classics Club books you'll be tackling yet?

First Man and Fantastic Beasts are sooo on my list for this fall, as are Life Itself and A Star is Born. Fall movie season is my favorite time of the year. <3 Hoping to tackle a few books off my TBR list, but as school is back in session, that might be a pipe dream. ;-)

    1. Claire, I'm hoping to read Treasure Island (Robert Louis Stevenson), The Lady in the Lake (Raymond Chandler), and Johnny Tremain (Esther Forbes). We shall see!

Summer movie season tends to be my favorite, partly because I have a lot of time to go to the movies, and partly because I do really love superheroes and fun frolics :-)
