Old-Fashioned Charm's 2016 Period Drama Challenge!
I'm so excited! Miss Laurie is hosting another Period Drama Challenge! She did this a few years ago and I had the best time reviewing movies for it. So I am joining in again this year, and aiming for the Fanatic level (12 to 15 movies reviewed). So you've been warned: I'm going to be posting a lot of period drama movie reviews in the next six months :-) If you want to know more about this challenge, and even join it yourself, visit this post.
(Also, don't you love the button? It's got Anne and Gilbert AND Captain Wentworth and Anne Elliot!!! Two of my favorite fictional couples ever!)

Agree or disagree? That is the question...
Comments on old posts are always welcome! Posts older than 7 days are on moderation to dissuade spambots, so if your comment doesn't show up right away, don't worry -- it will once I approve it.
(Rudeness and vulgar language will not be tolerated.)
What a great idea! I don't generally review movies, but I'll have a lot of fun reading your reviews and maybe finding some new ones to watch!
ReplyDeleteSounds good, Hannah :-)
DeleteOhhhh, boy, did somebody say . . . Period Drama??? ;-)
ReplyDeleteJessica, they did! Should we duck and cover?
DeleteI KNOW.... LOVE that button!! ;) And I am, too, so yay -- super excited! I'm most definitely a fanatic when it comes to watching :), but I'm not sure how many reviews I'll be able to fit in, so I'm planning to start with 5 and see if it works up from there. (Now I'm reeeallly dreaming of seeing the new Far From the Madding Crowd and In the Heart of Sea, but we'll have to see. There's always Life. Or rather, the rest of it. ;))
ReplyDeleteHeidi, last time around I think I aimed for watching like 10, and ended up hitting the top ranking, so maybe this time I'll aim for the top and fall short? Who knows!!!
DeleteThere's no release date yet for In the Heart of the Sea on DVD, but I've seen March as the estimate.
I do not usually review movies en masse (although I am planning on doing an extensive Jane Eyre review/comparison series), but I LOVE it when other people do, so I can know what to skip if there are iffy issues. Also, that is a good way to find new movies to try (I have an ongoing list).
ReplyDeleteLivia Rachelle, ooooooooh, a series of Jane Eyre comparisons? That sounds cool!
DeleteI have a HUGE list of movies I want to see. I keep meaning to type it up and post it on this blog, but I haven't had a chance yet. So many movies, so little time....
Isn't this great? I'm definitely joining again, I'm planning to review 8 movies/miniseries!
ReplyDeleteWonderful, Birdie! Over the past couple of years, you have introduced me to so many wonderful period dramas.
DeleteI think it was actually the previous Period Drama Challenge which introduced me to your blog and you in the first place!
DeleteBirdie, I'm fairly sure that is true! It was her first PDC that really brought me out of my blogging shell and got me interacting with other bloggers.
