My Guest Post About "The Muppet Christmas Carol" (1992)

I've written a brief review of The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992) for James the Movie Reviewer's blog, and you can read it here.  It's one of my favorite adaptations of Charles Dickens' influential story, the other being Patrick Stewart's 1999 adaptation.

  1. I've never seen this, but I probably should--given that I love the Muppets and I love "A Christmas Carol" . . . :)

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas! We really enjoyed ours :)

Rosie taught me how to make YouTube fanvideos, so I made one of Colonel Brandon and Marianne from S&S 08. It was a lot of fun--I can't wait to make more! Here's the link if you want to watch it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JymYGxcMe2I&feature=gp-n-y&google_comment_id=z12st5bj1naacnnyg04cjfog3k2adpcjtqc0k

Rosie also made a really, really cool Mr. Darcy fanvideo (using P&P 05 photos, naturally ;) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PrA3_p9sy5o

    1. Jessica, yes! You should watch it. If you love the Muppets, you'll get a bunch of the inside jokes too.

We had a great Christmas! I'm glad you did too :-)

What cool videos! I love the song "Bridge Over Troubled Waters," though I'd never heard that version before. Perfect pairing for Marianne and the Colonel. Can you believe I've had that version sitting on top of my TV waiting for me to watch it for almost TWO MONTHS now and I still haven't had time to watch it. I'm too busy for my own good, I tell you.

And Rosie's video made me grin and grin :-D Please tell her so!

    2. Thanks so much! That makes me really happy :) "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" is one of my favorites, and when Rosie suggested it I knew I had to use it :)

I know! I felt like that all semester--NO TIME TO DO ANYTHING. I actually got the DVD for Christmas and I've been enjoying it SO much!

Rosie is so happy to know you liked it! Actually, she made an "Emma" video yesterday which I highly, highly recommend--she used a "Guys and Dolls" song, but I won't tell you which one ;)

    3. The "Emma" vid is cute too :-) Not convinced the song is a good fit for the character, but it's a cute rendition, anyway :-)

    4. Mmmmmmmm . . . yes . . . I do see how you could say that . . .

Personally, though, it does remind me a lot of Emma, because she IS a "lady" at heart, but she sure doesn't act like it sometimes :-)

Agree or disagree? That is the question...
