It is 61 songs, and the MP3 download is only $6.99!! Some of the songs I had never heard before. "Mack the Knife" is, of course, my favorite, and I often listen to it over and over while washing the dishes.
"Mack the Knife" is my favorite song ever! I love finding a "new" live recording of it by Bobby that I haven't heard before -- I have at least 6 or 7 by now. Such a perfect song for him.
I actually found that album a couple months ago and bought several songs from it that I didn't have yet. I love being able to do that, as I have so much of his music that it's pretty rare I find a CD with enough new-to-me music on it that I'm willing to buy it.
I'm not super-familiar with Bobby as an actor, having seen only 4 of his films. I adore all 3 of the films he and the adorable Sandra Dee made together...I think "That Funny Feeling" is my favorite of the 3, but the others aren't far behind. I also caught him in a psychological drama with Sidney Poitier..."Pressure Point." I was very impressed with his acting ability. Have you seen that one?
I agree, I like That Funny Feeling a lot better than If a Man Answers or Come, September. Yes, I've seen Pressure Point, and found it interesting, but flawed. I really love Captain Newman, MD, which Bobby has a small role in that earned him an Oscar nod. And he's awesome in Hell is for Heroes. My favorite of his movies is Gunfight in Abilene, but it's almost impossible to find now, and anyway, you don't like westerns :-) I'm not a huge fan of his State Fair, except for his scenes -- I like the original with Dana Andrews better as a whole. I also have a movie of his called Too Late Blues that I haven't watched yet....
"Too Late Blues" is in my Classic Flix queue, so I'll be watching that one of these days. I looked for "Gunfight in Abilene" recently, following a post in which you mentioned it, but I was unable to find it.
Don't count me completely out on Westerns. Audie Murphy is my man of the month next month, so I'm watching about a dozen of his Westerns...plus I just bought his TV series "Whispering Smith." Despite never seeing an episode in my entire life, I bought the entire series from Amazon ($11.99 for 25 episodes). My love for Audie may just make me a Western lover yet.

Happy birthday to Bobby! How sad and tragic that he died so very young!

Anyhow, remembering you, Bobby, on your birthday!

You'll undoubtedly get to Too Late Blues before I do, then.
DeleteGlad you're not entirely anti-Western! Some are better than others, just gotta find the type you like :-)
Gunfight in Abilene is reeeeeeeeeeeally hard to find. Just hoping it'll come out on DVD some day!
Oh yes, you can tell that again!
